Online Therapy

A Great Alternative to Face to Face Sessions

Online therapy has become even more popular since the Coronavirus pandemic swept across the world in 2020.  I use the Zoom video-conferencing service, which provides a safe and convenient way to access counselling and hypnotherapy. Conversations via Zoom are encrypted so your privacy is protected (Zoom’s privacy policy can be found here: https://zoom.us/privacy-and-legal).

Before your First Online Therapy Session

You will need to download the free Zoom app onto your mobile phone or computer.  It’s best to do this before your first session commences. I will send you an email invite which contains a link to our scheduled meeting. Simply click on the link in this invite and you will be guided through the process. For more information and a video guide please see: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193-Joining-a-Meeting

Creating a safe environment for your session

You will need to find a quiet location where you are safe, will not be disturbed or distracted, and where you have privacy. Using headphones with a microphone can provide added privacy if you have them.

Remember to put your mobile phone onto Silent Mode so you will not be disturbed. Turn off any virtual assistant, such as Apple’s Siri, Microsoft’s Cortana or Google Assistant on your mobile phone and computer. Switch off Amazon Alexa or equivalent if it is in the space you are using.

Accessing Online Therapy from Outside the UK

Please note that I am based in the UK and am therefore governed by UK jurisdiction. If you are seeking counselling or hypnotherapy from outside the UK, you will need to confirm your agreement to this.
